For Restaurant Week, El Patio will be serving a rich & satisfying 4 course lunch at RMB 128 only. Go hungry and don’t plan to do much after lunch ’cause you’ll be eating big time.
The meal starts with the Fisherman Soup, a tasty seafood consommé.
As an entree, pick the potato & chorizo, a hearty comfort food that will warm you up from the inside. As a second and lighter option, you can choose the warm squid & duck ham salad, which is tasty but slightly over salted.
As a main, you can choose between a cod or a pork dish. While the cod was over cooked and the flavor combination didn’t quite convince, the pork loin stuffed with cheese & ham was definitely a more satisfying experience.
Unfortunately the kitchen didn’t have any rice when we visited, therefore we couldn’t try the rice pudding that will be offered during restaurant week. Instead, we had their signature desserts: a lip smacking lime brûlée tart & a delicious chocolate… something (see picture). Both of these were really the highlight of the meal which makes me think someone in the kitchen has terrific patisserie skills. If this is the level of desserts, the rice pudding should not disappoint.
Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere and food at El Patio. As their offer is quite high-end, Restaurant week is a great chance to sample their food at reasonable prices.
