Grinder is a new burger joint on lunch-set paradise’s Wuding Lu in Jing’an district.
I was at Grinder with my coworkers just yesterday and the space still smelled like fresh paint from the renovations. For RMB 45 we all got a burger and a beer each (NB: prices may be adjusted after Chinese New Year).
I chose a Pangzi, translated “Fatty” – Cheeseburger with a sunny side up egg and bacon. Most definitely not a gourmet burger but sure enough it’s pretty decent for the price and it hits all the right fatty spots. The bun is very soft but in a pleasant way, nicely toasted inside. The chilly fries are also quite tasty.
Replacing Photastic may not be a hard feat, but the discerning expat office crowd of Wuding Lu is hard to please, so let’s see how it goes. I wonder if this will become a hot joint for them dating app users?
